Born and raised in Jamaica, Executive Chef Oran Townsend knows a thing or two about island food. Oran is a culinary graduate of Runaway Bay Heart Hotel and Training Institute in St. Ann, Jamaica. He also earned a culinary certification from Johnson and Wales.
In 2003, when Oran immigrated to the US, he began working at Horn’s Bar & Grill at the Chippewa Hotel on Mackinac Island in northern Michigan. In 2008, Oran headed south to Naples, working for local restaurants as a sous chef at Stoney’s Steakhouse & Tavern on the Bay and chef at Pure Urban Oasis.
